GREETINGS and WELCOME

Welcome to the web page of the Temple of the Dark Moon. We are an active "progressive Alexandrian-based" coven located just 20 minutes north of Adelaide's CBD in South Australia. We follow the initiatory degree system found within traditional Wicca as well as other ethics central to this religious and spiritual path. We also include other spiritual and magickal practices within our workings in order to assist with the individual spiritual growth of each member.

Amongst the pages of our web site, we offer some general introductory information about Paganism, and in particular how it relates to Wicca, as well as information specifically connected to the Southern Hemisphere.

Aside from being a fully established working coven, we also offer training through various means including a monthly Wicca and Magick Study Circle that will be commencing in August 2009. This study circle will replace our intensive six week course, The Wytch's Circle (which will not be held again until 2011 due to time restraints).

If you are new to, or would like to find out some more information about Wicca and Paganism in general, we recommend you read Paganism: Different Religion, Similar Belief and Is Wicca the right Spiritual Path for Me?

HECATE’S RITUAL AND SUPPER (15 August 2009)

In partnership with The Goddess House, the Temple of the Dark Moon is organising a special ritual in honour to Hekate, the Greek Goddess of the Crossroads, that wil be followed by a Greek inspired supper. For more information, including the registration form, please download this pdf flyer.

BEALTAINE MAGICKAL RETREAT (24-25 October 2009)

The Temple of the Dark Moon will be holding another exciting overnight experience within the Mt Crawford forest (located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills) to welcome in Summer.

Held just prior to South Australia's Fire Ban season, our Bealtaine celebrations will commence on the Saturday with lunch and then continue throughout the afternoon with forest walks, craft making and May Pole dancing. Those wishing to stay overnight will be invited to attend a special Bealtaine ritual and feast.

Afternoon activites suitable for children and partners, and can be attended by day attendees as well as overnight retreaters.

Cost: TBA - includes all craft making materials, workshop notes, accommodation and food. (Discount for Temple members).

THE GODDESS HOUSE

The Great Goddess, the Divine Feminine, is honoured in Adelaide through The Goddess House, which operates from the Temple of the Dark Moon's covenstead.

  • HEKATE'S RITUAL AND SUPPER - 15 August 2009: See above for more information.

  • EXPLORING EGYPTIAN GODDESSES - 17 October 2009: A special one day workshop looking at the ancient myths as well as reconstructing some of the ancient rituals honouring many of the Egyptian Goddesses - from the familiar ones such as A'st (Isis) and Ma'at to the less familiar ones. This is a fun and interactive workshop.

  • TRANSFORMING YOURSELF WITH THE DARK GODDESS - 21 November 2009: Due to the many requests received, this is a repeat of the May 2009 workshop. The Goddesses we will be working with during this workshop include Persephone, Pele, Oya, Lilith, Baba Yaga and Hekate. For more information, download this pdf flyer.

FULL MOON GATHERINGS

During the Winter months, the Temple of the Dark Moon holds free Full Moon Gatherings that can be attended by the general public just prior to the actual date of each Full Moon. More information about these Gatherings can be found here.
